Dead Wood is wood Which is death. There are differen kinds of deadwood eg try and wet dead wood. Also it is differed into standing and laying deadwood.


Mostly is standing deadwood try and laying deadwood wet.

Deadwood has many tasks e.g. it is habitat for a lot of organisms:
insects find protection, food and a place for reproduction.

Also bigger animals like owls and martens find shelter ind deadwood.



mushrooms, moss and tresses and other plants use deadwood as medium.





All these organisms and bacteria help to decompose deadwood.

Totholz ist totes Gehölz. Es wird zwischem stehendem und liegendem und ebenso zwischen trockenem und modrigem Totholz unterschieden.
